My current PC is about 4 years old and I have an MSI Gaming 5 MOBO, i7-4790k, 16gb of RAM, and a GTX 1080. I'm not sure if this will fix my problem of not having my USB ports not think anything is there but it's one last thing to try before just building a new computer. I've tried uninstalling them all and restarting my computer as well as choosing the options to not let Windows power down those ports. (Code 10) The requested operation was unsuccessful. The last one has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and when I go to the properties it says |This device cannot start. When I go into my device manager, under the USB controllers I have: 2x Generic USB Hub, 2x Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller, 2x USB Root Hub, and one USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller. The last thing that I can think of is it may be related to this issue. I've tried practically everything under the sun that I've found online as well as in other topics I've made on other sites. I think that the ports are getting power but no data. They work with other computers and I've plugged other keyboards and mice into my computer with the same results.

I'm able to use a PS/2 keyboard and mouse no problem. They are usable in the BIOS but once the computer boots they turn off. The setup file updated both the WiDi Application and the Drivers to the new version.I've been having some issues with my computer for a while now wherein my USB keyboard and mouse doesn't work. I installed it and after reboot, the Device Manager showed no error and it was updated as follows: It was a 250 MB setup file (Application_Intel_W8_A02_Setup-NPPC8_ZPE.exe) So, I downloaded the latest Drivers for WiDi for my model from Dell support: You can use download the latest drivers from Intel:īut Intel says that it only provides generic versions of drivers, and it recommends downloading from the computer manufacturer as there could be some alterations and customizations incorporated by the manufacturer. Installation of WiDi software version 3.5 or higher. The resolution to this problem according to Intel is: I did some search and found that this problem is occuring not in USB 3.0 drivers or Intel Chipset drivers etc., but in Intel Wireless Display (Intel WiDi) drivers. The Device Manager displayed an error for a device called: I had the same problem on my Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720.
